Until her new job starts in September, buttoned-up elementary school teacher Laurel Harris is at loose ends and in need of cash. Fortunately her best friend's older brother is a single dad and desperately needs a nanny. Or so she’s told. She doesn’t anticipate him being such a menacing, muscled, and undeniably gorgeous man…or that he has zero interest in hiring a nanny.

Micah Crane will do right by his young daughter, no matter the cost. And right now, that cost is juggling parenthood with long hours at his bar and working as an enforcer for a notorious crime boss. He doesn’t need another complication in his life, but the sweet, frustratingly opinionated little blonde hell-bent on caring for his daughter stirs his blood like no woman ever has.

All it takes is a moment of weakness to ignite the lust blazing between them. A moment that will unravel their self-control and unleash all of Micah’s darkest secrets...

This wasn’t one of my favorite Brazen books, but I also didn’t hate it. I liked it.
I wasn’t the biggest fan at Micah at first. I get that he wasn’t a people person at first but he took it a little too far. He came off just as an asshole. But later on thought the book he was more pleasant and I actually did start to like him. But what I wasn’t really a fan of was when they are at the hospital. He came just as an ass. I didn’t like it.
Laurel I liked too. I love how good she was with kids and how she wanted to save every one. And I loved how she was with Micah’s little girl, Shae.

For this being a brazen book, I didn’t think that it was as steamy as some of the others I’ve read. It lacked in that area. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few hot-ish scenes but not like you would expect there to be.

Overall, I did like it. I enjoyed Laurel’s character and Micah’s but not at first. This wasn’t as “hot” as some of the other brazen books. The scenes are not that memorable.  His character gets better later on thought. I really liked the moment Laurel was with Shae. They were so cute together and I liked how Laurel was the mother “figure” for her. I do plan to continue the series. I Micah’s best friend and part owner of the bar gets a book.
