I’m going to start off and say that this wasn’t my favorite book by this author. There were a few issues I had. These issues are more to do with my personal preferences.
The first issue is that he started talking to his ex girlfriend that was married and one that he was going to propose to. She dumped him because he went into the military and couldn’t afford the life style she wanted. They hadn’t talked to each other in like 10 years and out of the blue she calls him. I didn’t like it one bit.
Another issue I had was the tattoo of her name on his arm. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in a book. I hate when the MC has a tattoo of OW on his arm. He eventually gets it removed, but I just didn’t like this what so ever.
And my final issue was that he said that he hasn’t been with anyone for a while. But, he said he didn’t know if he was waiting for his ex to divorce or if he was punishing himself for responding to her in the first place.
“He didn’t know if he’d been waiting for Juliet to get her divorce or if he’d been punishing himself for responding to her in the first place. He’d always known it wouldn’t work, that she’d never really be his, but he’d taken the bait anyway—and that pissed him off.”
The Suspense was good. Didn’t have an issue with that. She’s always great with that aspect of the book. Overall, I think a lot of people will like the book. I think my issues are just my personal preference.
