Synopsis

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder...

As the captain of Field County's ice rescue dive team, Callum Cook is driven to perfection. But when he meets new diver Louise "Lou" Sparks, all that hard-won order is obliterated in an instant. Lou is a hurricane. A walking disaster. And with her, he's never felt more alive...even if keeping her safe may just kill him.

Lou's new to the Rockies, intent on escaping her controlling ex, and she's determined to make it on her own terms...no matter how tempting Callum may be. But when a routine training exercise unearths a body, Lou and Callum find themselves thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse with a killer who will stop at nothing to silence Lou-and prove that not even her new Search and Rescue family can keep her safe forever.

Katie Ruggle’s debut novel was a great start to a great romantic suspense series. I really enjoyed it. There was a few things that I wished had happened differently, but overall I really liked Hold Your Breath.
The first thing that really drew me in to the book was the cover. Yes, I’m one of those people. Judge a book by its cover. And in this case it was a good thing. The second was the synopsis. I was intrigued by it and of course, it turned out to be in my favor again.
I liked the characters. Both of the main characters kick but in the book. I really liked Lou thought. She is on a team with all men and she handles her own. She isn’t a weak and whiny character. She is the opposite. Which is one of the reasons why I liked her so well. Callum is the moody team captain. He doesn’t like to joke and have fun. Me personally, I liked his character. I like the mysterious and moody characters. As for the other guys on the team, I liked them. They weren’t in the book a hole hole lot, but what they was they were enjoyable.
Murder, Mystery, and a girl who found a body that wants answers and justice for a man she kicked in the loose in the water. Lou takes it upon herself to find the murderer for the guy she kicked loose in the water during one of their training exercise for the IRDT (Ice Rescue Dive Team). She teams up with Callum and they go searching for answers.
I wished that everything would have been wrapped up in this book. But, I can understand why it wasn’t. Each book is a different couple, but the story line continues into the next book.

Overall, it’s a great debut and a great start to the Search and Recue series. I’m excited to continue to read this series. If you like Romance, suspense and a little mystery with a moody and mysterious MC and a kickass heroine, then you should give this series a try. Or better yet if you don’t, go ahead and give it a try.
