Now she’s stalking the Brothers and looking for weakness. She’s close to achieving her goal, so close she can taste it. But a prominent federal judge is now in ICU, and Eva’s the only one who can prove the club hired the hit.

Jake Ryan was once a Brother, but he got his life together when a judge gave him a choice: prison or the military. He took the military and he’s never looked back. Now, as a member of the lethal Hostile Operations Team, he’s accustomed to working on the side of justice.

So when Declan MacKenzie comes to Washington DC and asks him to infiltrate his old gang to protect a witness and get evidence, he doesn’t hesitate to do his duty. But little does he suspect that Eva Gray is a girl he once knew or that she’s on a mission of her own. A mission that could see them both dead before they’re through.

Review | 4 stars

For such a short novella, Lynn Raye Harris packed a lot of things I loved into this book. Romance, suspense, and fighting.

I loved the character even though it wasn't that long I felt that you actually got to know their characters well. I also liked that this was kinda like an ugly duckling story too. She was ugly and not so desirable in high school but now she's hot.

Overall, if you enjoy her HOT series I think you'll enjoy this book. Great romance, suspense and a hot guy who only had eyes for the heroine.

She’s forbidden fruit, and he’s trying to not to taste… But desire can only be denied for so long. Circumstances keep pulling them back together, and something truly unforeseen happens. Overnight, Eli becomes a guardian and Maggie his ward.

Will Eli keep his hands off Maggie? Will Maggie like it if he doesn’t? Will the two of them break the law because it feels so good? Only one way to find out!

Warning: This book will make you ache in the best way possible! It’s so sweet it’s disgusting, and yet we just can’t stop. It’s a coming-of-age story that’s just what the author ordered. So eat up and enjoy!

Likes...

The characters. I loved them all. I really liked the fact that their relationship was kinda forbidden.

Disliked...

It took them forever to get together. I wished that would have happened sooner than it did.

Release Blitz --> You've Always Been Mine by Jenika Snow

PAIGE

When Erik left town, I thought my world had ended. Even at the tender age of ten I knew how hard my life would be without him. And as I grow older, as the letters between us became sparse to nonexistent, I can’t help but feel like a wall has been built around my heart.

There is only one boy for me, and I know I’ll never see him again.

ERIK

She was my best friend, the only person I knew I couldn’t live without.
But we had to leave each other.

Time went on, we drifted apart, and it always felt like I’d left a piece of myself back with her. But I’m a man now, a wounded Marine, and fate brings me back to the one girl who completes me.

Paige has always been mine, and now it’s time to prove that to her.

Warning: Tighten that seat belt because you’re about to go on an over-the-top, totally unbelievable ride. Featuring a possessive and devoted hero who saved himself for that one girl, it’ll still have that sugary-sweet aftertaste you crave. Don’t forget that cold glass of water, because you’ll need it for the heat this book—and Erik—is packing.

Review | 4 stars

This was a very sweet and short read. I really love books where their best friends and they turn into lovers, which is what this was.

I'm glad they waited for each other. It was sweet. Just two friends reconnecting again.

I don’t know how long I stood there, watching the road, maybe thinking Paige would come back, like it wouldn’t be weird between us. I didn’t want it to be like that, but I guess it was unavoidable.

“You got it bad,” Will said from behind me, and I clenched my jaw. Staying with them and my aunt was temporary, as in I was already going to look at a few places for my mom and me. Yeah, moving back to town had been short notice, and yeah, they were family, but Will and Cal were already riding my ass, and I hadn’t even been here that long.

I should have told him to fuck off, but instead I just turned from the street and made my way up the porch. My mind was on Paige, how pretty she was, how grown up she’d become. She wasn’t that cute little girl anymore. She was a woman, a gorgeous woman.

And mine.

First thing I needed to do was find a car. I hadn’t needed one, not since I was in the military, away from home, with nowhere to go. But this was different. I was back in Blue Springs, Paige was here, and I needed to be able to get to her.

But on that thought I remembered what she’d said. She had a place, her own place. But did she share it with someone? I’d looked to see if she wore a ring—which she didn’t—but that didn’t mean she wasn’t taken.

No, she’s mine. She’ll only ever be mine.

“Fuck,” I mumbled under my breath and headed toward the back room. I also needed to get out of here, like yesterday. I knew my mom liked being here with her sister, but I couldn’t stand Cal and Will. One of these days they’d push me, say the wrong thing, and I’d beat their asses.

Once in the room I shut the door and grabbed my cell. I stared at Paige’s number, wanting to call her, wanting to be with her even though she’d just left. And even if she was with someone, I didn’t know if I could just let it go. I didn’t know if I could just stand back and be her friend, even though I’d said I would take her any way I could. I meant it when I said I wanted her as mine, and that had just cemented itself back at the diner when I saw her for the first time again after so long.

Meet me tonight for dinner?

I shouldn’t have sent her that message. She’ll think I’m a fucking creep for sure. Damn it. I ran my hand over my hair, breathing out, feeling tightness in my chest. It was the same feeling I’d gotten when I first saw her at the diner. It was the same sensation I’d gotten when I watched her drive away all those years ago. I rubbed my chest at the same time my cell vibrated.

Paige: I’d love to.

We had a lot to talk about, a lot of time to make up for. I just hoped she hadn’t fallen in love with someone, because she was meant for me.

We were meant for each other.

My Thoughts…
I was really disappointed in this book. I did not like the main characters at all. Dakota, the MC, I don’t really think she knew what she wanted half of the dang time.Sure, sometimes that's OK, but it just didn't work for me in this book. I did not like some of the choices she made. I didn’t connect with her at all. I honestly didn’t get her connect with Jack. I didn’t feel it as I was reading. And I like to see that on the pages as I read. But, it wasn’t. I didn’t really like the fact that she lived in an artist colony. I actually found that to be weird. This book was a struggle the whole way through. I also found it boring. Not much really happened. And Dakota not going to RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) because of her break up with Cody. Well first off, I would never let a boys betrayal decide if I would go to a school or not. I just think that was a stupid reason as for her not to go.
As for her best friend. I hated her too. Your best friend would never try to take your boyfriend away from you. So, in my book she really wasn’t her best friend.
And Jack, well like Dakota, I found that I didn’t like him either. He was just awful. He was a boring and a whimp MC. He honestly lacked everything I would want in a MC. Not much else I can say. He didn’t do anything for himself. He waited until someone pushed him to do it. And even then, he still didn’t want to do.
The Plot…
The plot wasn’t so much as an issue as was the characters. The only saving grace this book had was Joaquin and Attila. I liked them better than the other characters but I didn’t love them. They were nothing special about them, but I liked Joaquin I found him to be kind of funny and the same goes for Attila.

Overall thoughts…
I love the cover of this book. I think it’s pretty. But the book its self I did not like. I honestly just found it boring. I didn’t like the characters and well, it was lacking something-characters, good plot, are some of the things that come to mind. I would honestly probably not recommend this book. Some people might enjoy, some might even love it but I did not.
The one thing I can say is girls; don’t let boys dictate big choices in your life.
